Although I usually work with neutrals these days, I truly love color and patterns. Let’s take a look at some of the Bali® fabrics and how you might use them in your plans for new drapery. This simple but gorgeous fabric is neutral, but the embroidered pattern makes it pop. I could easily add this to every room in my house. It is the Bavaria fabric in the color Munich.
I used this fabulous fabric in my bedroom. It’s airy, elegant, and still adds something fresh to the room. It comes in several colors, so I think I’ll try some of the other colors in other rooms. This is one of my very favorite rooms and the curtains just soften it so much.
Now, if you want to use a neutral and dress it up with a trim, you can use the cream fabric I used in my dining room with the color trim. I used the Dover fabric in color Snowfall with the globe fringe in Mingle Morning Blue.
The color is just barely there in the trim, but it adds a sweetness to the room in a quiet way.
Now, let’s move on to color and pattern. I love this gorgeous pattern with the red, pinks, and green. This is the Eli fabric in the color Oyster Shell, and I can imagine it in a bedroom with a pink-checked coverlet and red accents. You could throw in a green-and-cream checked chair or two and it would be beautiful. I love green mixed with pink.
This fabric would be lovely in a living room. I see a velvet blue sofa and green-and-blue plaid Tartan chairs. It is the fabric Kayo in the color Indulge. I would pull out the blue, light green, and peachy pink for my other fabrics in the room.
This blue fabric would be lovely in a sitting room with blue-and-white striped chairs and a table draped in white French linen. You could mix in darker and lighter blues and lots of cream. Maybe add another color for contrast.
Blue is great to work with, and many different shades of blue work well together.
If you are interested in any of the fabrics for curtains, I highly recommend ordering fabric swatches so you can see them in person.
